Known individuals, operators, traders, wanderers, mercenaries and other figures encountered across the Wasteland.

Records are filed by subject. A visual record is held for every figure currently on file, though in one case it is a photograph taken long before the archive existed and filed under something else entirely.

Traders and neutral ground

• Active, location unestablished

  The Banker of Rottingham

  Holds the deposits, issues the notes and logs every contract in the region. His desk left the Dust Market; the book stayed open.

• Active, itinerant

  Knacker the Trader

  Breaker turned parts dealer, working out of no fixed stall since the market emptied. If it is broken he can strip it, fix it, or sell it in pieces.

• Active at the old Dust Market site

  Dr. Hugov Borschtovsky

  Travelling physician and scientist, and the last soul still working the abandoned Dust Market site. Claims a pre-Fall chronology that cannot be reconciled with the calendar.

• Active at Ivy's Mercy

  Ivy

  Fortified her roadside bar instead of leaving it. Deals straight, brews strangely, and never names the price.

Contractors and operators

  Vladolph Putler

  Mercenary, fixer and neutral blade for hire. Watched the factions rise rather than joining one. Payment first, trust later.

  Callum "Spike" Harke

  Self-taught tactician out of Birmingham. Methodical, relentless, face always covered. Fights for contracts, territory and reputation.

  Rook

  Born after the fall, with nothing to measure the present against. Escort, recovery, elimination. Clear terms, clear payment.

• Active, unaffiliated

  Reaper Clark

  Former Welsh Territorial sergeant working the Snowdonia forests behind a bone-white skull mask. Trades precision for supplies and intel.

• Active; files with the Scattered

  The Old Soldiers

  Two soldiers of the Grey War, separated before the bombs and reunited years later. Went looking for military authority, and are said to be surveying for the Crown now.

• Active; holds the Radio Tower

  The Cŵn

  The Hound. Works only from names pinned to a hostel door, and holds a tower the hills will not walk up to. If your name is written, you are prey.

Wanderers and other figures

• Active on the high ground

  Gnasher

  Orphan of the post-Fall mountains who collects teeth from the dead and kills only to protect the range. Traders leave offerings for passage.

• Active at thresholds

  The Black Priest of Annwn

  Ritualist seeking to wake Gwyn ap Nudd and open the gates of Annwn. His rites have not yet opened anything. That is not the same as harmless.

Archive notes

• Affiliation on any contractor record should be read as provisional; see Mercenaries.
• The Dust Market is abandoned. Only Dr. Borschtovsky still works the old site.
• Several figures decline to provide a name. The archive records the title instead.
• Visual records are held for all twelve entries. One entry covers two people and the archive cannot tell them apart in it.
